Presents his album 'Maxinquaye Reincarnated'
Tricky's debut album remains one of the most revolutionary records in the history of British music. Following its re-release, dubbed 'Maxinquaye Reincarnated', last October, Tricky has now announced a European tour of the same name. The musician will tour Europe in March 2024, bringing his mythical album in its entirety, along with many notable tracks from his incredible discography.
Upon its release in 1995, 'Maxinquaye' was impressively received, with near-perfect reviews from all music critics and a nomination for the Mercury Prize (which it lost to Portishead's 'Dummy'). NME declared about the album: "it is unprecedented and mesmerising, revealing something new with every listen", and Q Magazine noted: "Tricky proves to be more stimulating and eclectic than its peers". 'Maxinquaye' continues to be praised for its impact on music and is a regular on lists of the best albums of all time, such as NME's "500 Greatest Albums" list in 2013 and Rolling Stone's "Essential Albums of the 90s" list. Internationally admired by some of the biggest names in music, including the lamented David Bowie, Tricky now has 14 studio albums to its name, accounting for more than two million copies sold worldwide. With creative control over the 'Maxinquaye Reincarnated' project, Tricky began reworking songs from the original album in 2022. The reissue includes some unreleased songs and new versions of tracks that never made it onto the album before. Don't miss the performance of Tricky, an unrivalled pioneer in his field, at AB!
