Simon Scott is a ‘sound ecologist’ and multi-instrumentalist from Cambridge, England. His work researches the creative process of active listening, the implications of recording with the assistance of contemporary technology, and the manipulation of natural sounds in music.
His solo albums are released by labels like Miasmah & sister-label Sonic Pieces, Slaapwel records, Kompakt and Touch. The album ‘Soundings’ was just recently released on Touch. Making use of field-recordings from various cities all over the world, modular synths, guitar and laptop electronica, Scott created an album that deals with change and shifting time zones.
