Tom Pintens: "De Oogst"
Tom Pintens has succeeded in making a surprisingly solid guitar album and yet still remain loyal to the dreamy, filmic mood that we recognise from his first two albums.
The recordings took place in burst of friendship and enthusiasm in the Gamstudio in Waimes, a sort of Ardennes chalet with built-in studio, where the band camped for five days at the beginning of November 2010. They were finished off and mixed in his own PintensPalace studio.
Just as for the previous two albums, the lyrics were written by writer/musician/actress Ellen Schoenaerts, who was this time supported by her colleague Dries Helsen. Luc De Vos and Remco Campert completed the script.
For this third album, Tom will be working with Dutch label Excelsior Recordings, a match made in heaven.
Live he will be assisted by Bjorn Eriksson on guitar and bass (Maxon Blewitt, The Partchesz, Admiral Freebee), Stijn Cole on keyboards, beatbox (Colepark), Tijs Delbeke on bass, guitar trombone (Sir Yes Sir, dEUS, ...) and Jeroen Stevens on drums (I love Sarah, Nieuw Zwart Trio).
A musical symbiosis that provides a propulsive, ever exciting live set!
Derek & Maria: “Het wonder is volbracht”
Following on from Derek’s first Dutch-language CD Lila Cortina, he now continues in Dutch together with Maria. With the brand new album “Het wonder is volbracht” Derek again bears witness to his talent for straightforwardly exposing true feelings. Derek's typically characteristic guitar sound and the sometimes soft, sometimes scratchy or playfully plucked sound of Maria's violin give the songs the necessary colour. Even though Derek wrote (in French and English) chansons and songs that moved many over the last twenty years, he now plays in/with the Dutch language as if it had never been otherwise.
