World? Folk? Roots? Global gitane crossover! Or better the term 'michto'? Thierry 'Titi' Robin grew up in the west of France. He taught himself to play guitar (and the oud, and the bouzouki) and was quick to go for gypsy music (which he would later rediscover in places like Andalusia and India). In the meantime Titi has been driven, enthusiastic and busy with a variety of things for almost half a century. Now and then he goes à la Bashung with an OK Frenchman, but then again we have his rich multicultural excursion on CD, such 'Gitans', 'Un Ciel De Cuivre' and 'Rakhî', or smaller-scale masterpieces such as 'Le Regard Nu' and 'Ces Vagues Que L'amour Soulève'. Plus, of course, not long ago that sumptuous 'Jivula' DVD-CD box (via Naïve). This is one of the most adventurous and natural interpreters on the world music market. Come and get something out of it! Qualitity!
