This is a part of
Coca-Cola Sessions
‘I've Got A World’ is the new single by The Tellers which is also on their fresh new album, ‘Close The Evil Eye’, out in October on 62tv Records; affiliated with Pias Recordings for this release. Frontman Ben Bailleux is the only one left from the original group: we say goodbye to Charles Blistin and hello to Fab, Cesar and Joos. The second album was produced by Gordon Raphael (producer of the first two Strokes albums) and you could hear excerpts of it at Pukkelpop.
The Tellers first appeared on the AB stage in 2006, not yet into their twenties. They had picked up a thing or two from The Libertines and Violent Femmes. In December 2007 they organised a ‘mini ABBota’ when they sold out both the AB and the Botanique in no time at all. This time, they return clutching the follow-up to their debut ‘Hands Full Of Ink’. We hope that it will force their breakthrough in Flanders this time.
Coca-Cola Sessions? Our refreshing structural partner mentioned in the name has arranged 9 extra Club concerts from the '09-'10 season on to support young national and international talent, and before an attractive, young crowd. We wrote in the first press release: ‘Will we discover the artist today who, in a few years, will bring Herman Schueremans’ garden party to a close’? That paragraph turned out to be visionary, as both Balthazar and Customs were on the Rock Werchter stage this summer.
We present a new, much-talked about series of the Coca-Cola Sessions with Arquettes and The Tellers. With, from this season on, reports which can be seen on ABtv and Moodio.tv.
Support-act will be Fastlane Candies: sticky sweet folk-rock from – how could it not be – the city of pear-syrup. Discover the gems ‘Wound Me’ and ‘Behind My Back’ on their MySpace page: clearly inspired by the better indie bands, like Architecture In Helsinki, Yacht en Belle & Sebastian. A découvrir!
