American trio The Low Anthem managed to draw attention in no time with ‘Oh My God, Charlie Darwin’. A gem that effortlessly measures up to the best of Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Iron & Wine. A sold-out ABClub, a masterful performance during 10 Years of Duyster and a Pukkelpop concert (‘a fine, fragile concert from four talented multi-instrumentalists who know what to do with a century and a half of country, americana and folk’ – HUMO) were sufficient to establish a firm fanbase in Belgium.
Their new album entitled ‘Smart Flesh’, produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Monsters Of Folk), will be released on 21 February 2011. The Low Anthem has been a foursome for some time now, consisting of multi-instrumentalists Ben Knox Miller (vocals as well), Jeff Prystowsky, Jocie Adams and newcomer Mat Davidson.

The Head and The Heart, from Seattle, originates from an open-mic night in 2009. A year later they self-released their untitled debut in self-made denim covers. The labels Sub Pop, in the United States, and Heavenly Recordings, in Europe, see a great future in the quasi classical folk-rock of the six members and they will be re-releasing the album in mid April 2011. Our first introduction will be on their tour with The Low Anthem.
