Back with an exquisite barrage of livid noise-rock!
The Hickey Underworld, the country's hardest “kick in the balls' band, recently turned out a sequel to the bellowing ‘I’m Under The House, I’m Dying’ in your face and, yes, it once again left you looking for your teeth after a barrage of livid noise-rock!
At our very own Pukkelpop, veteran Jonas Govaerts last summer passed the all-scorching torch on to Tim ‘Millionaire’ Vanhamel and he thanked kindly in his characteristic style... playing the Wablief?! tent to dust, together with the rest of the Hickey's.
In the Humo concert review (***1/2), we read something about “koorts, een glazen thermometer die ijlings afbreekt in uw reet en dat THU de grootste groep ter wereld is” while De Morgen (***1/2) kept it a little more decent with “THU bleef een uur lang even bizar als boeiend. Het was goed dat de groep na twee jaar afwezigheid hier terug zijn verwrongen gezicht toonde, en loensend naar de toekomst keek.”
Their third issue entitled ‘Ill’, has been out since the end of April on Pias, was produced by Niels Hendrix of Fence (Bed Rugs, Polaroid Fiction), was mixed by Tim Green (The Melvins, Comets On Fire) and once again rocks and rolls like a female breast.
Welcome back oh exquisite bedlam!
