French-Finnish duo with adventurous pop songs in the category Kate Bush/Moloko/The Cardigans.
‘Both Ways Open Jaws’ is another extremely experimental pop album by Dan (the D) and Olivia (the O), together The Dø. ‘The eccentric couple have a patent on infectious pop melodies’ (Rif Raf). ‘The Dø conjures ice crystals on the touch-screen of your MP3 player’ (HUMO). A remix-EP - containing a number tracks from ‘Both Ways Open Jaws’ reworked by (there's that ø again) Trentemøller and Vitalic - has just recently been released.
Olivia & Dan met in 2005 when they were invited to write a soundtrack together. Their debut ‘Mouthful’ was released in 2008 and the single ‘On My Shoulders’ was an immediate hit that carried them to the top of the French album charts. An international breakthrough and tour soon followed. With the new album this duo again appears unpredictable, but they're all the more adventurous for it. At the time of ‘Mouthful’, The Dø was expanded into a trio on stage. During this tour there will be no less than 4 multi-instrumentalists complementing them with string instruments, wind instruments and keyboards.
