The Breeders play their classic in its entirety.
The Breeders (us)
Unforgettable indie pop/rock history: in ’93 The Breeders released ‘Last Splash’, with Kim Deal at the wheel. 1993 was also the year that the Pixies – who had made a name for themselves in previous years with ‘Surfer’ Rosa’, ‘Doolittle’, ‘Bossanova’ and ‘Trompe Le Monde’ – called it a day. (They were also where the ever charming Kim Deal served as bassist.)
The Breeders threw themselves into the recording of their second album - ‘Last Splash’ – which was an immediate hit, with three smash-hit singles: the unforgettable ‘Cannonball’ (which was also ‘Single of the Year’ that year in NME), ‘Divine Hammer’ and ‘Saints’. ‘Last Splash’ went platinum in the US and Pitchfork included it in their 100 Most Important Albums of the 90's chart.
Last year Kim Deal suddenly sent an SMS to the former members of The Breeders: "Should we get together to play ‘Last Splash’ for its twentieth anniversary?" Enthusiasm all round. And so it was.
The Breeders will play ‘Last Splash’ in the AB, in its entirety. What's more, with the original line-up, like the album was originally recorded.
Reiziger (be)
Reiziger touches your emotion. Easily switching from subdued melancholy to youthful enthusiasm, from restrained contemplation to razor-sharp paroxysms of anger, shifting from feather-light poptunes to a massive dead swing sound but nonetheless always keeping their specific touch. Reiziger is a band. No exasperating individualism, no freaky soloing, the whole is much more than the sum of 4 individuals. Reiziger is beyond a band. Managing to combine escapism with harsh realism! Reiziger is Reiziger. Unique in sound, unique in word, unique in style.
