Unadulterated and catchy, yet chaotic, pop music; that is Team William's trademark. This young band first bagged prizes left, right and centre (including Bronze at HUMO’s Rock Rally 2008) before currently scoring with their untitled debut. Humo: ‘Team William has made a fantastic debut album, yet according to an extremely simple recipe: write twelve completely irresistible pop songs and punch them onto one CD. Excellent debut’. De Standaard: ‘An explosive debut’. Focus Knack: 'There isn't an atomic bunker strong enough to protect you from the impact of slightly insane indie-pop songs like Lord of The Dogs and 70 %’. The French language RIF RAF: 'Perhaps even the Belgian band-of-the-year'. Singles ‘Lord Of The Dogs’ and ‘You Have My Heart, Okay’ already belong to the best of our national history.
We hear the same praise from our northern neighbours for the band De Staat. In March this year they were a revelation as support act to A Brand in the ABBox, meanwhile they've been having a string of successes in homeland Holland. People have been talking about De Staat for a year now, since the release of their album ‘Wait For Evolution’. Their music can best be described as a mixture of roots, rock and intelligent, dark pop. Following a tour with dEUS through the United Kingdom, we welcome this excellent Dutch band back to the ABstage.
