The Nieuwe Lichting winner envelops himself in melancholy and somberness on debut EP!
Only just won Studio Brussel’s De Nieuwe Lichting and already with an own show in AB: things are going hard and fast for Tamino-Amir Moharam Fouad – Tamino in short. The grandson of Egyptian actor/musician Moharam Fouad impresses with the brilliant ‘Habibi’, a song that envelops itself in a mist of melancholy and somberness. Tamino’s phenomenal voice goes right to the bone, which makes comparisons with Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith easy. We will this year see their untitled debut EP released via Unday Records (Het Zesde Metaal, Trixie Whitley, etc.), a debut whereby expectations are extremely high. Watch out: new Belpop history in the making here!
