A return to their previous top form with ’13 Voices’
Together with Blink-182, around the turn of the century they were the future crown princes of pop-punk and with hits like ‘Fatlip’, ‘In Too Deep’ and ‘Still Waiting’ they were the voice of that generation of (pop)punk-rockers. But with changing band members, addiction adventures that gagged frontman Deryck Whibley for a while, marriages on the rocks and the waning success of pop-punk (except for Greenday), the gang of Canadians that is Sum 41 was left somewhat in the shadows.
And yet pop-punk blood is thicker than water… The sights have again been sharpened since the return of old hand David Baksh on guitar and their ‘crowd-funded’ sixth ’13 Voices’ has been in stores since 7/10 via Hopeless Records (New Found Glory, Enter Shikari, Neck Deep, Yellowcard). A true ‘return to top form’ and new glory days ahead!
