Rock! Guitar! And words that hit like a rock!
'Heal', that's the title of the latest healthy issue from Strand Of Oaks, the artistic alter-ego of Timothy Showalter. This American has been (dubiously) active for a while now, clearly rediscovered his electric guitar at just the right moment (and now also has a huge 'survive' tattooed on one arm.)
Quickly over to Humo, with a 3,5/4 for 'Heal' by our sincere and able hairball: 'An avalanche of fierce emotions broke loose, they sought their escape in whining, sullen grunge guitars, in the scorching guitar work... the ‘whoosssh’ of eighties synth-pop in the title track, and the thunder of power-ballad drums. However, it is the guitar solo's that voice those highest peaks of confusion and hope, the ones that words cannot express.
Angst and euphoria battle for the upper hand, but the magic is back again.'
