British grime master launches second album
Stormzy is on the way to becoming one of the most highly-praised artists in the United Kingdom. Two years ago, he climbed up out of the underground grime scene with his debut album ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ – the first album in his genre with a #1 hit in the national charts. Earlier this year, the London rapper made it to headliner at Glastonbury and was also the first black artist to do so.
Stormzy is known for his political activism. He criticised the government with a freestyle during the Brit Awards and established the ‘Stormzy Scholarship’ to financially support black students during their journey to Cambridge University.
His long-awaited second album ‘Heavy Is The Head’ will be released on December 13, an album that includes the rapper’s first #1 hit ‘Vossi Bop’ and his latest single ‘Own It’ (in collaboration with Ed Sheeran and afro-pop hero Burna Boy), amongst others.
