Talented duo introduces new album
Almost three years ago, harmonica player Steven De bruyn (El Fish, The Rhythm Kings) and double bass player Jasper Hautekiet closed a particularly strange period with the album 'Aanhou Geraas Maak'. While the whole world seemed to fall silent for a while, they wanted to convey the message that we should never give up. After a tour that took them all over the country and also took them as far as the Netherlands, Germany and even Cuba, they had renewed inspiration to hit the studio again. Besides their familiar harmonica and double bass, this time they expanded the sound palette with a battery of electronics, analogue synths, drum machines and sequencers.
At a time when everything seems increasingly black and white, Steven De bruyn and Jasper Hautekiet prefer to focus on the frayed edges on their new album 'Fuzzy Boundaries' - to be released on 24 January '25. The first single 'Tot Ziens' is immediately also the closing track of the new album and reflects on the farewell of a close friend. A desolate track that sounds emotional as well as hopeful and reassuring. With this, Steven and Jasper are by no means saying "goodbye", but rather "we'll see each other again soon". Video artist Husk chose this track to place beautiful open archive footage selected by him underneath.
This wonderful duo will present their new album live to close the Week of Belgian Music at our AB Club.
