The songs take the spotlight in theatre programme ‘In een ander licht’ , songs that Stef Bos wrote for the radio/TV project of the same name for the NCRV and The Metropole Orchestra (CD release Nov. 09 / tv-recording Dec. 09).
In late 2008, Stef was asked by the NCRV to write twelve new songs, inspired by twelve biblical figures but not tied to religion, church of dogma's.
They had to be people of these times. God's song could, for example, be the song of a contemporary celebrity that everyone knows but doesn't really know the real person. Peter's song is the song of an idealist who struggles with his own limitations.
Ik heb meer beloofd
Dan ik waar kon maken
Heb getwijfeld en heb soms
Mijn dromen verraden
Een vriend laten vallen
Mezelf vervloekt
Stef wrote the lyrics himself. The music came about in collaboration with his band and musical friends like Frank Boeijen and Fernando Lameirinhas.
In the show, the new work is played in the same way that it came into being. Not with a big orchestra but with his impassioned band member and fellow composers Rene van Mierlo, Martin de Wagter and Roberto Mercurio.
