He – Son Lux, or rather Ryan Lott - is a friend of indie-folk favourite Sufjan Stevens. He is a classically trained composer and already released two previously unnoticed albums on the avant-hop label Anticon. But with ‘Lanterns’ he's approaching things differently. As in: in the seeming certainty of landing a spot on many trend-setting 'end-of-year charts'. The music owes a debt to his buddy Sufjan Stevens. It sounds intimate but theatrical at the same time too, sometimes even grandiose.
Personally approved by Son Lux: Sunday Bell Ringers, from Belgium. Or: the contrary brainchild of Joeri Cnapelinckx (see too: Tommigun, De Anale Fase,...) who will soon be releasing his second album on the now famous Zealrecords (see too: Isbells, Few Bits,...).
