Snarky Puppy is a sprightly jazz-fusion collective based in Brooklyn NYC USA. As of recently, also with a fine ABcourse: from sold-out club to a full, sweltering Main Hall as a part of the Jazz Marathon. This summer with Gregory Porter at Gent Jazz too.

Because this time we had to wait for Gent Jazz before announcing, we'll just borrow a bit of 'praise' from that wonderful festival here: '...a phenomenon. With a versatile instrumental mix of raw funk, soul, jazz en R&B... found the ideal balance: Their rock solid compositions leave room for improvisation and a deep respect for tradition is paired with musical innovation. Snarky Puppy makes no compromises and allows itself to be inspired by Herbie Hancock, Björk, James Brown as well as Radiohead.
