vibrant no overdubs jazz, world, funk fusion
In October 2013, the combination of Snarky Puppy preceded by Sam Vloemans was good for a jam-packed and super-enthousiastic ABClub.
Now returning in the Main Hall - and FREE OF CHARGE - as a part of the Brussels Jazz Marathon.
We just wanted to mention it to you. So you can start preparing yourself for a party along the lines of previous ones by La Chiva Gantiva or Youngblood Brassband!
Snarky Puppy is an exciting American collective. Homebase is Brooklyn NY and from there out they head to all the good jazz-festivals.
But there is more. Snarky Puppy is not only a septet consisting of extremely brilliant musicians. They mix world-sounds just as eagerly as funk rhythms in their music. The late Don Pullen (the guy from African-Brazilian Connection) would surely have been glad to hear it.
A solid core encompassing guitarist-composer Michael League is easily extended to 25 or so semi-permanent members, including musicians who have earned their stripes with Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, Marcus Miller, Q-Tip, Morcheeba, Bilal, Justin Timberlake...
Another good word? 'The band has made a strong commitment to spreading a love of music and general positivity to a young generation looking for something real to hold on to.'

Support-act will again be none less than Sam Vloemans. Second CD 'New Light' is now finished, known to a large part of the country from De Laatste Show, and with his mix of latin, soul, jazz and – yep – pop... the ideal opener for this worldly-wise, swinging Friday night.
