SECTION 25 & PETER HOOK PLAYING A SELECTION OF JOY DIVISON, NEW ORDER & SECTION 25 SONGS + KEVIN HEWICK + SCREENING OF ... JOY DIVISION (Grant Gee) + AFTERPARTY WITH o.a. PETER HOOK (JOY DIVISION/NEW ORDER) & GORE (Cruise (Ctrl))
Joy Division and Brussels. They seem perfectly suited. Not only was their first performance outside the UK in Brussels (in '79 in Plan K, to be precise), but also the idea for this full-evening programme arose last year in Brussels when Section 25 and ex-Joy Division and ex-New Order bassist Peter Hook shared a stage and got especially enthusiastic to do 'something' together. The result: a complete evening programme consisting of:

SCREENING OF ... 'JOY DIVISION' ('07, director: GRANT GEE, 96 min.)
The average Joy Division-fan can't complain. Last year the gripping biopic 'Control' by Anton Corbijn was released, followed immediately by the documentary 'Joy Division' from excellent director Grant Gee, who sketches the history of this legendary band. ' ... another very powerful and moving film ... a MUST-SEE'. wrote The Guardian in capitals. We still know director Grant Gee from the excellent documentary 'Meeting People is Easy' about the tour-life of Radiohead and also the likes of the fantastic video clip 'No Surprises' (Radiohead).

Kevin Hewick
When Ian Curtis gave up the ghost, the owner of Factory Records (see: Joy Division, Section 25, Happy Mondays, ...) Tony Wilson, supposedly suggested that they try working with Kevin Hewick as new singer. The only result was the track 'Haystack', recorded in 1980 with producer Martin Hannett. Hewick later worked with Peter Hook, A Certain Ratio and Adrian Borland (The Sound) and was often to be found in Factory Records circles. Now on the AB-stage, armed only with an acoustic guitar.

Section 25 & Peter Hook
PLAYING A SELECTION OF JOY DIVISON, NEW ORDER & SECTION 25 SONGS
'I'm scared to death, but it'll be great to do a full gig. I've missed playing too much! (Peter Hook)
This autumn SECTION 25 & PETER HOOK are off to play a number of concerts together, only a mini-tour. Their set will contain songs from JOY DIVISION ('Transmission', 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', 'Shadowplay', ...), SECTION 25 ('Looking From A Hilltop', 'Dirty Disco', ...), NEW ORDER ('Temptation', 'Blue Monday', 'Dreams Never End', ...) and MONACO ('What Do You Want From Me?', ...). Section 25 and Peter first performed together in '79 during the heyday of Factory Records when Section 25 often served as support-act to Joy Division. Peter Hook is of course known as the bass player to Joy Division and New Order. Section 25's first single ('Girls Don't Count') was at the time produced by Ian Curtis and they had a worldwide club-hit with the single 'Looking From a Hilltop'.
