Vocally impressive and effervescent young talent
There's no holding back the rise of Sarah Ferri. Rightly so, as she is endowed with an impressive voice and she has an excellent live reputation.
Sarah Ferri has had a much needed boost since that AB invited her to become Artist in Residence. She didn't sit still either, grasping the opportunity with both hands.
On her fantastic debut album "Ferritales" she bundles her whimsically creative songs, some with a dark magical edge, some with a serious portion of gipsy jazz, swing or bossa nova.
Sarah's music also mirrors the composition of her blood: the contrast between the 'Mysterious North' (Belgian mother) and the 'Hot-blooded South' (Italian father) lie at the foundation of songs that sometimes remind me of the naked honesty of the seventies.
Musically and lyrically, she effortlessly navigates from exuberant to extremely intimate atmospheres. Modest and effervescent.
What's more, Sarah Ferri can count on the support of these fantastic musicians:
Jo Mahieu (guitar)
Jonathan Callens (drums)
Steven Van Holsbeeck (double bass)
Sofia Ferri en Tine Roelens (backing vocals)
