German electronica band works with Krautrock legends
Attention: this concert takes place at Bonnefooi: http://bonnefooi.be/
German instrumental duo Sankt Otten has already been around since 1999 and has just released their 7th album (Denovali Records). Stephan Otten (drum programming, synths) and Oliver Klemm (guitar, bass and synths) enter into a number of exceptional collaborations on this new album.
They've been able to get hold of the likes of Harald Grosskopf, check out his 1979 masterpiece 'Synthesists' (8.6 on Pitchfork) that was re-released last year, Jaki Liebezeit (human metronome, legendary drummer of Can and to be seen on 28 September with Burnt Friedman on BEAF) and Christoph Clöser (of Bohren & The Club Of Gore) to make contributions to their new album that, as expected, heads much more in the direction of krautrock than their older work.
You can anticipate an evening of first-class electronic music, a cocktail that mixes Sankt Otten's unique melancholy sound with the best of contemporary synthwave and the legacy of the German pioneers of progressive electronic music.
Sankt Otten geht Kraut!
