Extremely charming Spanish songstress sings in English about ‘Fuerteventura’, ‘Tarantino’, ‘Nick Drake’, ‘A Hat’, ‘January 14th’, ‘Cigarettes Revisited’... (and has a favourite (hair) colour?)
The sparkling voice is actually that of Lourdes Hernandez and she scored immediately with her debut CD 'I Love Your Glasses' (at least in Spain, South America and once already in Belgium).
Now Russian Red is back with a vengeance and an endearing second CD: 'Fuerteventura', recorded in Glasgow, with producer Tony Doogan (see too: Mogwai, David Byrne..) and musicians from Belle & Sebastian. Apparently China, Taiwan, South Korea and, again, Belgium are impatiently awaiting it. Me and you too, surely?
