Rriiccee is the hobby project of actor/musician/director/writer Vincent Gallo and guitarist Eric Erlandson (see: Hole). Gallo is best known as the director of indie films like ‘Buffalo '66’ (from ’98) and ‘The Brown Bunny’ (from ’01). He's also appreciated as a musician. He mainly writes the music for his own films, which were collected on something like ‘Recordings Of Music For Film’ and released on leading label Warp. The beauty of his album ‘When’ (from ’01, again via Warp) didn't leave us unmoved. Rriiccee's music is not the most obvious however. So what can we expect, dear Vincent? "The music may be a little like jazz but not abstract or avant-garde. You'll be hearing an interpretation of a growing musical vocabulary. Whatever we play will remind you of things, not things that you've heard necessarily, but it will sound familiar because it's music." So it's improvisation, Mr. Gallo? "Improvisation is not a good word for what we're doing. It's more a gesture of composing and performing at the same time, always hoping to avoid musical cliché or jamming." . It has been noted!
Oh, also: for women who are totally mad about Vincent Gallo: just check out Gallo's merchandise on www.vgmerchandise.com and dive straight into Personal Services. You can have him in your home for your own personal pleasure … however, it won't be cheap …
