Brazilian maestro of samba and funk
Since his debut in 2003, Rogê has established himself as a master of authentic and compelling music, with a sound steeped in the rich traditions of his native Brazil.
Rogê’s musical journey has been one of transformation and growth, and this can also be heard on his latest album. Curyman was recorded with renowned guitarist and producer Tommy Brenneck and it combines the charm of classical samba with the raw energy of funk and pop. The result is a collection of fifteen compelling tracks that were recorded in just three days.
Rogê has a sound reminiscent of Arthur Verocai and the best of 1970s Brazil, with a voice that is often compared to icons like Ben Jor, Valle and Veloso. His warm, soulful tone and depth bring each song to life, whether it’s the subdued mood of Retrato Do Mestre Da Praça or the simple Se Eu For Falar De Amor. Rogê sings with passion and authenticity, creating – time and time again – deep connection with this audience.
