You can safely say that the impact of musical documentaries is pretty big lately. Just think of Charles Bradley’s ‘Soul Of America’ and, most especially, of the highly praised ‘Searching For Sugar Man’. This wonderful documentary is about the search for the American folk singer Rodriguez who debuted in ’70 with the impressive album ‘Cold Fact’. His popularity at the time? Non-existant. The press never uttered a word about him. Sales stranded at around a hundred. But even so, in 1971, there was a last album released: ‘Coming From Reality’. After which all went quiet. Deadly silent.

Until ‘Searching For Sugar Man’ was released in ’12 and Sixto - he was the 6th child born in the family - Rodriguez received a second chance. His albums were suddenly discovered worldwide and Sugar Man – his nickname – started touring again. For sold-out venues this time. Worldwide.
