Dutch-Belgian evening with lo-fi, tape collages and analogue synth-sounds
Red Brut is the alter ego of Holland’s Marijn Verbiesen, who we know as 1/3 of Sweat Tongue or 1/2 JSCA (AB Salon, 2016). This sound artist just recently released her debut album on KRAAK. The album contains a collection of excellent lo-fi tape collages that remind one of both the early musique concrète and the Finnish psych-folk scene of the early 2000’s.
Verbiesen approaches her music very intuitively and can certainly be considered an outsider artist.
Köhn, Jürgen De Blonde’s one-man project, has been one of Belgium’s most important experimental electronica artists for years now. His work appears on labels like Western Vinyl, Deep Distance, Sloow Tapes, SicSic, Sonic Meditations, KERM, but mainly on the Kraak label that he helped to establish more than 20 years ago. De Blonde is a musical millipede. He is one of the members of Portables, he writes music for theater, film and contemporary dance, he makes crackly lo-fi as Ed Nolbed or dreamy pop with Frambooze.
His electronic work can be described as a mix of musique concrète, glitch, IDM, krautrock and hypnagogic pop.
