Belgian Commotion!
“Causing a commotion and shaking the Marquee for the first time. A good kick in your gonads” (Humo on Psycho 44’s Pukkelpop ’13 concert)
“An edgy set, infectious, with swinging guitar riffs and energetic drums” (De Standaard on Psycho 44’s Pukkelpop ’13 concert)
“These guys will go a long way, they proved that with their performance at Pukkelpop 2013 ” (Cutting Edge)
They're Pyromaniacs, those guys from Psycho 44! In early July they lit the flame in Brussels' Cirque Royal as warmer-up for QOTSA (handpicked by their heroes!) and then went on to set the Pukkelpop's marquee aflame as opener of the 2013 edition. Without a debut album on store shelves either! Following EP ‘Demon’ from ’11 (on which great singles ‘All My Demons have Destortion’ & ‘My Gomorra’ stood out), on November 4, the four will drop their long-awaited longplayer ‘Suburban Guide To Springtide’ via Pias, a good three years after their finals position in Humo’s Rock Rally. Best listened to with a helmet on, as you'll get a few well-aimed punches thrown in the direction of your head. Forerunner ‘Surfer Shell’ is one of those, with edgy punky guitars driven by a mean rhythm section and a serious injection of surf-pop.
Their sound - poppy stoner rock with electronica - has clearly evolved with the assistance of producer/musician Stéphane Misseghers (Soulwax/dEUS) and mixer Adam Noble, who twirled the dials for bands like Muse, Coldplay, Basement Jaxx and Placebo.
‘Dance MTHRFCKR Dance’ will be the new single and yep, that is an order! A hefty mosh, a delicate pogo, a bit of twerking… Anything goes for the nutcases from Psycho 44 and preferably as much of it as possible, as they get a kick out of causing a commotion!
Those who want to get hold of the new album for a good price, including a ticket for this release show, can best hurry themselves off to:

The deliciously absurd The Rott Childs recently released second LP ‘Alleluia: A Brit Milah In G Melodic Minor’ upon us and, on it, they cheerfully kick up a fuss again. Hyperactive, crazy song structures, schizophrenic vocal parts and tempo changes that make your ears buzz… A unique band in Belgium that gets compared to The Mars Volta, Mr. Bungle and The Locust but does their own thing in an entirely different way: kicking shins with the necessary dose of humour!
