Zandland
Jazz, and also a bit of cabaret, with Dutch-language lyrics is what we can expect with this new musical project from Niels Boutsen (also known as singer-songwriter Stoomboot) and saxophonist Marjan Van Rompay. Whereas Stoombootās starting point is the lyrics, Zandland begins with sultry and melancholy melodies blown by Van Rompay. With five musicians - vocals, saxophone, bass, drum and guitar ā from the four corners of Flanders, their first album (also titled āZandlandā) is a poetic and diverse journey of discovery.
