Transdisciplinary evenings in Brussels
Pecha Kucha, a Japanese expression for the sound of conversation, is a series of "show and tell evenings" for designers, architects, artists, creatives, ... started by Klein Dytham Architecture in
Tokyo. Since 2003, groups have sprung up in cities all over the world (over 80 so far) and adopted the Pecha Kucha format: each presenter has 20 slides which are displayed for 20 seconds each.
Pecha Kucha has tapped into a demand for a forum in which creative work can be easily and informally shown, without having to rent a gallery or chat up a magazine editor. This is a demand that seems to be global - as Pecha Kucha Night, without any pushing, has spread virally to over 80 cities across the world.
