Icelandic folkie surprises with new album ‘Palme’.
“’Palme’ is like something out of a fairytale, both distinctive and enchanting.”

This Icelandic violist/guitarist/classically trained singer, ex-Múm member and cousin of Ólafur Arnalds played her first Belgian concert ever in '08 at the Feeërieën. Those who saw her then – or recently during her living-room concert in Huis 23 or at the Feeërieën this summer – are still impressed by her disarming presence and unique voice.
She already recorded a number of song with countrymate Björk and her albums ‘Viđ Og Viđ’ (’06), ‘Innudir Skinni’ (’10) and ‘Sudden Elevation’ (’12) are indispensable gems to us. Add to that her witty and sincere comments between songs when live – plus a series of unexpected covers of the likes of Springsteen, Dylan or Caetano Veloso – and no living being could remain unmoved.
