AB Artist in Residence presents brand new EP
After debut-EP ‘Chapters’ (‘14) and successor ‘Amalgamation’ (‘15, with Avondlicht), the second solo-EP of Belgian producer Oaktree (Adriaan de Roover) is standing ready in the wings. Not just the next phase in Oaktree’s musical quest, but the current culmination of the young beat-baker from Antwerp’s development.
‘Dust’ is a yellowed collage of an album that slowly comes to life again. Also an album that blows by like a thick mist, at a self-sought tempo, whereby – as listener – hastening ahead is absolutely pointless. On the eventual horizon, there are certainly no bite-sized songs appearing between the densely packed ethereal fuzz, but rather moody soundscapes and minimalistic sound-carpets shrouded in a fragile beauty.
