Although Tsar B is best known for her futuristic, dark R&B, she has been devoted to her violin since she was a child. Whereas the instrument (with or without distortion) often seeps through in her productions, in this show it completely takes over. Aside musician Trui Amerlinck (Rosa Butsi, Ivy Falls, Another String Quartet) on cello, she performs a number of tracks from the Tsar B repertoire in a different guise. Ballads like Unpaintable and dressed-down versions of Escalate and Flesh & Bones pass in revue, but you can also expect reworked versions by David Lang, Arvo Pärt and other surprises. Rest assured that this evening will also strike your sensitive chord.
