Erik de Jong, alias Spinvis, has developed over twenty years into one of the most idiosyncratic and versatile artists in the Dutch pop-landscape. His successful debut album (from 2002) seemed difficult to beat, and yet he managed to match that quality on the wonderfully melancholic albums 'Dagen Van Gras, Dagen Van Stro' (2005), 'Tot Ziens', 'Justine Keller' (2011) and 'Trein Vuur Dageraad' (2017). New music is on the way and will arrive soon. Music that that is impossible to describe, except to say that it is 'vintage Spinvis'.
Because.
Big events throw long shadows.
Take, for example, the release of a new Spinvis album.
7.6.9.6. will be out on 2 October, in many guises: on vinyl, compact disc and digital. If so desired, the vinyl and compact disc will be accompanied by a picture book created by Erik de Jong. Three hundred (!) images depict the past two decades, a period in which Jong revealed himself to be an iconic artist who delivered five Nederpop classics, undertook countless tours, and created work for orchestra’s, modern dance companies, tv series, choirs, and films.
