Naaz Mohammad was once the quietest girl in the class. At the age of two she moved to Rotterdam with her Kurdish parents due to the Gulf War in Iraq. She was bullied as a child and closed herself off from the outside world. That has become inconceivable now: She broke through two years ago in The Netherlands, with the hits ‘Words’ and ‘Up To Something’. Her debut album ‘Bits Of Naaz’ followed a year later and she’s slowly but surely winning over The Netherlands with it… and the rest of Europe too. ‘I am used to being the girl that nobody looks at and suddenly I was the girl that everyone looked at’, she said in an interview for NRC.

She describes her decidedly r&b pop sound as ‘quirky pop’.
