Danish indie-pØp sensation drops long-awaited second LP!
"Fuck you, society. Fuck you, perfectionism!” and “As musician you need a rough, ragged side. Otherwise your creativity dwindles to a level not unlike that of a dead fish." Rooted in the Danish punk scene, Karen Marie Ørsted (better known in hipster-world as pop-wonder MØ) comes up with a pithy statement on a regular basis. Her acclaimed debut ‘No Mythologies To Follow’ from ’14 – filled with a rousing mixture of hip-hop, electro, soul and pop – was equally pithy!
Following a flirt with Major Lazor aka Diplo – their collaboration ‘Lean On’ is the most streamed track on Spotify in human memory – Ørsted is ready for the next step. ‘Kamikaze’, the first issue from her long-awaited second release, is certainly vintage MØ material: a shitload of Scandinavian coolness that abundantly affects the dancing feet! One thing is for sure: there’s a lot MØ where that came from!
