ex-Archive electro pop hype
Mineral is the effervescent electro-pop quartet encompassing Craig -ex Archive- Walker. Have just completed their Plastic Ekphrastic, on the new 359Music label of the rather legendary Alan McGee (see too: Creation Records, Oasis, Primal Scream...)
With Paris and Dublin as homebases, and with big influences (or so they claim): Talking Heads, Pixies, Syd Barrett, Kraftwerk, Gainsbourg, The Beach Boys and Béla Bartók... But you may also think: Metronomy, Dirty Projectors, MGMT, Grandmaster Flash, The Smiths...
Mineral is Craig Walker and the French Thierry Fournié, Sophie Armelle and Damien Li. Together since 2012, in the wake of other French acts like Air or Daft Punk but at the same time 'hinting at soundscapes from around the globe.'
Mineral delivers a mix of '60's lysergic pop, the new wave (both of the French and the punk-era variety) and shoegazing.' That can sound light or dark, romantic or psychedelic. At times, like the B52's meeting Delta 5. Are you familiar with the latter? No? Mind your own business!
