āThe Trials Of Van Occupantherā, the second album by Midlake from Texas, scored well with press and public and tends toward the fresh 70's folk-psych-pop sound. Fleetwood Mac and Joni Mitchell are never far away. A truly masterful album that effortlessly met all expectations. So it was more than just that their singles 'Roscoe' and āHead Homeā did well here on all radio stations. On February 1 follow-up album āThe Courage Of Othersā will see the light of day, and it is of course accompanied by a tour that also stops at the AB (for the third time in their career).
Support act will be American folk performer Sarah Jaffe who is already being tipped, here-and-there, as āthe next big thing out of Texasā. Her debut EP āEven Born Againā was much talked-about and she ran away with 3 statuettes at the Dallas Observer Music Awards. Producer John Congleton (The Polyphonic Spree, Explosions In The Sky) is currently working with her on a first album and she will be visiting the AB as a trio.
