Like Otis, Bill, Van, Ted...? Here's Michael!
Ki? Wa? Kiwanuka! Michael Kiwanuka! A new name that we'll gladly practise for a minute. As everyone who still listens to the radio will surely recognize his soulful songs.
'Tell Me A Tale'! That was his first modest EP and success. But 'Home Again', his debut album, will be out in the spring of 2012 via Universal. With thanks to the Communion entourage surrounding Mumford & Sons.
Michael Kiwanuka is a Londoner of Ugandan origin. He would seem to have been brought into being to sing. His supple and glowing soul voice is so natural and pleasing to the ear. We dare to directly situate him after or aside Otis Redding, Bill Withers, Van Morrison, Ted Hawkins (remember him?)
He's already toured with Adele. In De Standaard we then also read: 'Will Michael Kiwanuka become the new Adele?... According to the British broadcaster BBC, he has the biggest chance of becoming the star of 2012. He's the number one in their list of new talent.'
Kiwanuka!
Michael Kiwanuka is bringing a pleasingly contrasting support-act along: Jake Bugg (who appeared at Glastonbury already at the age of 17!?).
Unbelievable: Imany now along too as extra support-act. She was irresistible in the ABClub only a few weeks ago. So It'd be a good idea to keep an eye on the timing, Kiwanuka acolytes!
