Post-psychedelic, post-punk, kraut-inspired band for the new generation
This spring, Irish band MELTS will release a follow-up to their debut album Maelstrom, from 2022. That will be paired with an extensive European tour that also stops by AB Club.
No doubt thereâs something in the water in Dublin, as â following Fontaines D.C., The Murder Capital and Gilla Band â hereâs yet another fascinating band that succeeds in creating a contemporary, fresh sound with influences from post-punk, motorik beats and psychedelic music: MELTS. In April 2023, they played yet another sizzling set at Wilde Westen in Kortrijk, entirely confirming their impressive live status.
âMELTS bring many angles of attack to their brand of psych-rock. Itâs invigorating stuffâ, says NME.
Stereogum then noted: âChurning, krautrock-infused psych-rockâ.
âMELTS make gothy, driving post-punk⊠a sound that is both cavernous and claustrophobicâ, according to Brooklyn Vegan.
