Funk-House drenched in Cold-Wave by this DJ/Producer.
We can expect new work from American Matthew Dear, in the form of ‘Beams’. This jack-of-all-trades wears many faces as he has 3 other aliases aside from Matthew Dear: Audion, False and Jabberjaw. What's more, he established the Ghostly International label and made remixes for The XX, Hot Chip and The Chemical Brothers. On ‘Asa Breed’, from 2007, his funk-house drenched in cold-wave made way for Afrobeat rhythms and Krautrock influences. He's been heading out on the road as a trio for a while now, under the name of Matthew Dear’s Big Hands, and as such he gave a much appreciated concert in the Botanique in 2010 while promoting his album ’Black City’.
Successor 'Beams' follows this spring. ‘In The Middle (I Met You There)’ is the advance single from that new album and the guest vocal was in the good hands of Jonny Pierce from The Drums.
