Passionate country-folk from New Zealand, with band!

Just recently, impressive solo in a fully-stuffed AB Huis 23. Now back with band, in the ABClub, and with his highly praised debut CD (on the Dead Oceans label, finally out here via Konkurrent).

We pick up the thread with the wise words of an esteemed ABColleague:

'Marlon Williams is a 24-year-old country/folk singer from Christchurch, New Zealand. After having played for several years with his band The Unfaithful Ways and as duo with Delaney Davidson, he’s mainly been touring solo since 2013.

His first solo album appeared in April 2015 and was loaded with praise. Tonedeaf wrote of it: 'one of the most impressive country records this year'.

He was once, entirely appropriately, described as ‘the impossible love child of Elvis, Roy Orbison & Townes Van Zandt’. So you know what to expect.'

That was then, now we expect even more as Marlon is bringing along Dave, Gus and Ben – alias The Yarra Benders!
