Finally! One of the greatest American country-icons and singer-songwriter monuments, here with us on a fine stage! We got to know Lyle Lovett here mostly since his 'Pontiac' CD in '87, with that tastily bitter 'She's no lady (she's my wife)'. But you hopefully also know him from his 'Cowboy man' or 'I married her just because she looks like you'. With his striking, stylish appearance he's even at home in the world of film, especially with Robert Altman: Short Cuts, The Player... Meanwhile, he's got about 13 CDs on the market and from them it's apparent how much this craftsman doesn't shy musical risks: thematically he's rather daring, but there are also the significant 'Songs For The Movies', or his ambitious project: Lyle Lovett And His Large Band (now also with the sub-title: It's Not Big It's Large!) Impressive Americana, a successful mix of singer-songwriter, country, blues and jazz-chanson. And, no, not with a 'large band' this time, not solo either, but rather with a fine accompanying band. Ain't It Something!?
