Luz Casal, the flamboyant Spanish singer returns with a new CD via EMI and plans to start her European tour in the AB.
She especially made a name here after the Almodóvar film ‘Tacones Lejanos’ from 1991. In it, Luz Casal sings the unforgettable ‘Piensa en mi’, a bolero from Mexican Agustín Lara. ‘Negra sombra’ adorns the soundtrack of ‘Mar Adentro’ (2004) sung by Luz and Carlos Nuñez, accompanied by guitarist Ry Cooder.
With an ever surprising repertoire, extending from rock to ballades to folk and electronic soundscapes, this Iberian diva conquers every area she travels to. Celtic influences from her Galician birthplace colour her musical style. But always within the Mediterranean musical tradition of Spain, where Luz Casal also nimbly combines flamenco and pop on the side.
Today, her discography contains about 10 studio albums and the remarkably extensive compilation 'Pequeños Medianos y Grandes Exitos': 17 glorious songs including ‘Piensa en mi’, ‘Negra Sombra’ and duets with the likes of Etienne Daho and Raphaël.
Me gustaria que comprendieras: Luz Casal = class!
