The full title is: An Intimate Evening with Lucinda Williams featuring Doug Pettibone!
She is finally back at the AB, more than six years after her last visit. Only now as a duo with Doug Pettibone. And still in the wake of the fabled 'Blessed' album.
Lucinda Williams is an American country-rock singer from Louisiana (via the LA - Nashville route) Like the best bourbon, she is letting her career take its time. Since the late '70s barely 10 CDs. But since 'Car Wheels On A Gravel Road' in '98, good for a few Grammy's and then right where she belongs: on the best stages.
From her website, exclusive live versions of her work are available. There is even a separate section for 'set lists' (over 20 tracks each!).
Covered by the likes of Mary Chapin Carpenter and Emmylou Harris. And honoured by the lamented Vic Chestnutt in the song entitled 'Lucinda Williams', yes, on his 'West Of Rome' album. It doesn’t happen to everyone.
Friday 7 June in the ABFlex: appointment with a 'grand dame' of the Americana scene, staple country food for fans of blues, rock and folk. 'Blessed' are you who make it!
