Founder of French house-scene back with ‘Super Discount 3’
Etienne De Crécy (dj-set)
Pivotal figure in French dance and co-founder of French Touch (aside Daft Punk, Cassius, Bob Sinclar, AIR, David Guetta, Martin Solveig, …) that made furore in the worldwide dance branch since the early ‘90s.
In ’96 Etienne De Crécy shook the house/electro scene to its foundations with debut ‘Super Discount’, via own label Solid that he established with Alex Gopher. The longplayer, featuring AIR & Alex Gopher, was hailed by renowned music mag Q as one of the 25 best dance albums ever, with a ‘Victoires de la musique’ nomination (French Grammy) as a result.
Since then, EDC has spun DJ sets all over the planet and worked with the likes of Cassius and Steve Aoki. So too on latest issue Super Discount 3’ (Jan ’15), De Crécy again deals in funky house/disco and a series of collaborations with Kilo Kish, Pos & Dave (De La Soul), Madeline Follin (Cults) and Baxter Dury, amongst others.
