Impressive American songstress with pale skin and a strong voice, suburban biotope and good friends like Band Of Horses and Morgan Page. Born (appropriately?) in Rock Island Illinois and, so to hear, grew up on the Mississippi.
At the latest SXSW Festival in Austin Texas she was a true revelation for many insiders. Her debut CD 'Catching A Tiger' is now finally being released here (on the famous Fat Possum label, via Sony.) Lissie writes her own powerful songs, like that 'Oh Mississippi' with Ed Harcourt, but also covers heavenly versions of eg 'Wedding Bells' (Hank Williams) or 'Bad Romance' (Lady Gaga) or she lends her voice to the Grammy nominated 'The Longest Road' by Morgan Page (in a Deadmau5 remix!). In the meantime we read comparisons with Sheryl Crow, Chrissie Hynde, Lucinda Williams, Alela Diane, Stevie Nicks, Neko Case... What class!
