Blues & Roots Music Made in Belgium!
After five years of hard work, Lightninâ Guy has revealed himself as Belgium's new blues pride. He's released five longplayers, in just as many years, while touring non-stop nationally and internationally, as solo act or with his Mighty Gators.
So he's played more than 200 shows in 2012, represented Belgium at the European Blues Challenge in Berlin, played at Blues Peer for the second time in his career and released the albums âPlays Hound Dog Taylorâ & âBlood For Kaliâ .
Aside from that you'll find him in both Flemish and Walloon schools with his âBlues In Schoolsâ project. Twice a month he organises a blues jam for young blues talent too, in his home town Ghent.
Even though it sounds like a stuffy clichĂ©, Lightnin' Guy is surely âthe hardest workingâ blues & roots musician in Belgium at the moment.
In October 2012 he gave a memorable concert as a part of Broodje Brussel. He transformed a packed Music Village into a sultry Juke Joint in no time. After that dizzying passage, a Lightninâ Guy show on an AB stage is the logical next step.
His sixth longplayer âInhale My Worldâ will be released in the spring of 2013. This will also involve a big European tour.
Lightnin' Guy will round this tour off with a special âHome Coming Concertâ in the AB, one in which light is thrown upon both his electric and acoustic sides, and a number of special guests will be making appearances.
This concert is a must for all Lightninâ Guy fans and for everyone with a heart for Belgian blues & roots music.
This will definitely be a unique concert, with an unannounced line-up and playlist.
Basically the climax to five years of Lightninâ Guy & the Mighty Gators.
Let the good times roll!

Or be sure to read what Roland van Campenhout hads to say about this young blues man: âEver since dah blues crawled out of the southern muddy waters, the men spreading the word had special names. We had a Blind Lemon, a Sleepy John, there was a giant human being called Leadbelly, and many moreâŠ. Their 78 rpm disk recordings went all over the globe, influencing popular music and young musicians from London to Singapore, From India to Africa⊠So now we have from Belgium a young man who names himself Tiny Legs Tim, and just with his six strings and a stomping foottapboard he brings back the ghost and magic from Bukka White and Robert Johnson. Sit back and let the olâ magic take hold. Those tiny legs shure take a lot oâ burning blues around!â
