Singer/guitarist Kurt Wagner's band performed for the last time in the AB in October 2006. That was for the fantastic CD 'Damaged', the umpteenth from the band that became known for it's country-soaked soul music or, as you like, soul-soaked country. A breathtaking concert that was eternalized on the live DVD 'No Such Silence'. Come 8 October their new studio album will be released under the title 'Ohio' and true to tradition that will be presented in the AB, on 26 October.

White Hinterland is the alter ego of classically trained pianist and singer-songwriter Casey Daniel. 'Wind-Up Canary' was already released under her own name but she chose for the Dead Oceans label for her first fully-fledged record as White Hinterland: 'Phylactery Factory'. This label is a co-production between Secretly Canadian and Jagjaguwar, which has signed a number of much talked about names like Dirty Projectors, Phosporescent and Allen Bishop.
