AB submits to the Norwegian force of Kvelertak!
“It’s rock, it’s hardcore, it’s metal, it’s black, it’s punk, it’s perfect” (Metal Hammer)
"The best Norwegian band since A-HA." (Kerrang!)
“Rocks like a proper bastard” (Rocksound)
Uh oh, what have we got here?! Kvelertak, a gang of ferocious Norwegian Vikings, got us in an exciting punk, black metal and rock ‘n’ roll stranglehold (kvelertak in Norwegian) with their debut and, just when we'd recovered from that gigantic slap around the ears, they're now back again!
Earlier this week, the six from Stavanger started an immense celebration in the shopping streets of Antwerp when they revealed the title of their second album… ‘Meir’ (the translation of ‘lake’ in both the ‘Oostensch’ coastal dialect and in Norwegian) was again recorded with (Converge guitarist) Kurt Ballou and is to be released upon humanity on 4 March ’13 .
“The big songs are bigger, the harder songs are harder” said the announcement of Kvelertak’s take-over tour of Europe, send the women and children to the cellars as there shall be awfully hard pogo-ing happening to their scalding mix of trashy guitars and melodic punk ‘n’ roll rhythms finished with black metal phlegm.
Following Graspop, Dour and Hasselt's Muziekodroom, it's now the AB's turn to completely surrender to the Norwegian force of Kvelertak. “Angrep met vold”!
“Probably the best band in the world” is what can be read on the Facebook page of the inimitable Truckfighters. Swedish modesty or too many Carlsbergs consumed with the Danish neighbours? What is certain is that Truckfighter's testostestoner makes us recall the capers of the legendary Kyuss. They'll be kicking up dust in the Club!
El Doom & The Born Electric won't ring many bells. But Thulsa Doom or The Cumshots may make a gong go off? Both are bands of guitarist/singer Ole Petter Andreassen, better known as El Doom. He made furore in Norwegian stoner and metal circles and, with his new formation, Mr. Doom now takes us along on a mesmerizing prog-rock trip that will win the hearts of fans from far beyond the Norwegian borders.
